Sept 21 Sunday 9:30 pm. Hi everyone! Wow – we can’t believe the number of blog comments and emails we received yesterday – on a weekend even – thank you sooo much!!! We are touched and humbled to think of you all cheering for us.
Well the rest of the day yesterday was filled but fun – we had pasta and meat sauce for dinner – silly me mixed in some veggies, which Angelique promptly picked out with her fingers and put in my bowl – so I guess we have some work to do with the veggies!
We played some more, then Angelique went to bed – it was an exhausting day for her! She has no idea all the changes to come of course, but all the changes she’s had so far have been pretty darn huge. Actually going to sleep was another story, mind you – after a couple of false starts and getting up for cuddles, she was asleep at 10 pm and woke up around 7 am. Not bad at all!!
Today (Sunday) has been wonderful – breakfast, play, lunch, play, nap, walk, dinner and more play – really how bad can it be?!? We’re all tired but having a blast. Paul is wondering if it’s normal that 36 hours into parenthood he has the ‘Bob the Builder’ song stuck in his head?? Angelique has been singing along too which is a scream to hear…. We always love hearing our nephews sing that song with their French accents – now we get to hear it from someone who only speaks Kazakh!
Angelique has been saying more english words, and we can get her to repeat names and words after us now which is great. She's also getting used to 'showing us' what she means if she says something we don't understand - she's so smart!
Hope you’re having a fantastic weekend – we know we are!
Take care

SO EXCITING!!! Congrats on what sounds like a fantastic start to this part of your journey together! Good thing we have a laptop, because when I saw the photo of the three of you, I had to grab the computer and run all over the house looking for Jeff to show him. ((Hugs!))
Looking forward to hearing more about your time together in K-stan and, of course, to meeting this little monkey eventually! Lola is pestering me like crazy while I type this. Gotta run!
Love,
Cheryl
Hello Mam & Papa - had a blast last night celebrating with the Heidingers. As you know from our phone call (shocked we got thru on our first try), we celebrated your good fortune with champagne and shots and the kids were very excited too! Can't wait to add Angelique (and of course you guys) into the mix at our next get-together. Glad to hear all went well on your first night together. Sending more Bob-the -Builder vibes your way.

So glad everything is going so well. Wondering how long you guys sat and stared at her while she slept last night?? LOL I remember doing that with both of my kids - thinking - She's really our's??!!!
Haha - about the picking out of the veggies!! Welcome to toddlerhood. Sounds like she's right on track!!
I thought I was addicted to your blog before - aparently not - I can't get enough and can't stop looking at your family picture! Post some more!! Please?? LOL
Congratulations! We are just back from a trip and getting caught up with the blogs. How exciting to hear you have custody and to see her beautiful picture!!! Enjoy this new stage of getting to know each other.

Hello dear children
A weekend to remember for sure.
Was volunteering today for St. Boniface Hospital, and many, many people came up to me and told us how they are enjoying and feeling privileged to accompany you on this journey... as are we.
Enjoy each new adventure... this is all worth it now...

She is such a pretty little thing. Congratulations. You must be just delighted.
Enjoy your first days together as a family.
What a beautiful day! That child will be so loved.
Now that I've stopped crying tears of joy I can write this note - CONGRATULATIONS! I am so absolutely thrilled, happy, ecstatic, well you get the picture! I've been trying to call you for a couple of days now but can never get through so I decided to check out the blog and thank goodness I did!! She is beautiful and your life takes on a whole new meaning now - can't wait until you're home. Miss you lots!

Hi Paul, Nicole and Angélique..
The family picture is so beautiful.
We will always remember the first day of autumn 2008. I was just viewing a little video which said,
'Autumn is when every leaf becomes a flower' and now you have added an orchid.
For the veggies, I have a cookbook for you -- the JessicaSenfield cookbook where along with serving veggies on the plate, you actually incorporate them (hide them!) in the meal you have prepared.
How exciting for everyone.
Luv ya.
Auntie H and Uncle P and all of the Bulgers.
We think our last message did not get through, so will try again. So glad that the end is near and that you will soon be home on "good old Canadian" soil. We look forward to meeting your beautiful girl and can tell from the pictures that she is a little doll. CONGRATULATIONS! Have been reading your blogs from day 1; better than reading the morning newspaper. Keep up the good work. All the best - Marlene & Gordon & the rest of the Wilson clan.
Last night's Sunday dinner had such a festive air. It may as well have been Christmas we were all so very excited that the three of you are finally together 24/7! I can`t stop looking at your family portrait (the first of many!) and can't believe how much Angélique looks like the two of you!! How can that be possible? Truly meant to be, I'm sure.
We cannot wait for a Sunday dinner with the Savlac gang!!! It can't come soon enough!
Love Monique, Dave, Samuel and Maxime

Hey! I seem to remember someone else who didn't care for veggies when they were younger....hmmm? Payback time?? LOL
We're incredibly excited and can't wait for more updates, pictures, and chats. Love to all,
Auntie Lise and fam
She is just the cutest thing and the judge was right she does look like you guys. Congratulations!! I am so happy for you two. Nicole, I was so excited about the news I forwarded this blog to an old co-worker of yours (A. Omsen). I hope you don't mind. Please provide more pics.
